This place is conveniently located near popular tourist attractions and dining options like Bar Brasil, which is just a short walk away.

The hotel is clean. The hotel is near to cultural atractions of Rio. Buses that go to Lapa stop just in front of the hotel and main bus streams are closed to the hotel (Cinelandia metro is 5 min walking). Transport (airport bus-taxi/ taxi-airport bus) from and to the airport was not either a problem.

Night life is very noisy, try to get a room that is not closed to the street.

It has a fairly central location and is extremely cheap for the city standards. Next door to some great samba clubs.

The staff doesn't speak English.

The location was perfect with lots of nearby bars, cafes, and tourist points. The hotel had a great cost benefit and the breakfast was served individually. The representatives were friendly and welcoming, making the stay charming and enjoyable.

Everything was fantastic.

This is a very simple hotel, but the location is excelent. We could easily find transportation to any place in the city. Besides, we were in one of the most interesting streets in Lapa. We saved a lot of money staying there so we could visit more places in Rio! I would reccomend to those who doesn't care about fancy hotel services - the best things are outside ;)

Room was tolerable only because of location relative to attractions in the area. Breakfast was miniscule... Rooms tiny and not really clean... Wifi sporadically accessible from room. Stayed overnight with my girlfriend and, being used to North-American standards, I was a bit ashamed that this was the best I could find in the area for under a couple of hundred bucks a night. Not recommended for a serious romantic evening. :$

We stayed at a hotel located in the heart of the city center, just a short walk away from the subway station. The staff at Girassol Carioca Hostel E were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I was impressed with their willingness to assist me in every situation. The location of the hostel is also great, with easy access to transportation, attractions, and a wide variety of dining options. I would highly recommend this hostel for its cozy atmosphere and fair price.
